Residents are faced with escalating demands, enormous performance pressures, and overwhelming expectations. These stressors can impede performance and lead to diminished health and well-being. In response to these, a performance enhancement curriculum grounded in the principles and techniques of sport and performance psychology, was designed and delivered to Emergency Medicine residents. The curriculum was tailored to the express needs and concerns of the resident group with the focus being to develop effective strategies for enhancing personal perspective, recovery, and emotional preparation and processing skills during residency training.
